This book is the engaging and well-written pediatric counterpart of the highly popular
Pulmonary Pearls book. In 70 actual cases covering a wide range of common and ficult
lung diseases of childhood, Dr. Inselman presents, in the unique Pearls format, a case scenario, physical exam and lab findings, and a radiograph. The reader is then asked to formulate a diagnosis and/or a treatment plan. The next page reveals the diagnosis, provides a clear discussion, distills three or four pearls of practice from each case, and presents several key references.
This is a reasonably priced book of cases, but some of the treatments suggested are really not used commonly (for ex. asthma mtretaments described). Good short cases, with photoraphs that one can use
